In some far off, fantasy land, there exists a small species of creature simply referred to as “Mogu”. Mogu’s stand about 1.5 feet high, purple-ish, round. They communicate with a complicated set of sounds that is similar to human baby-talk, which is further supported by a slight telepathic link between direct family members. They are playful, harmless creatures. It is believed that these creatures were artificially created by an old, extremely powerful, yet lonely wizard who bore no children, and had a liking for small, playful creatures. This would probably explain that while even in pure darkness, their glowing features emit a smile so they can exist where the light does not travel, and humans do not dwell.

As well it is said that hostile versions of Mogu- called the Zheg- came to be after man learned of their existence and began to slaughter them, looking for the secrets of their telepathic ability. The first recorded Zhegs were known for opening portals, transporting humans away to other dimensions for damnation. They have been known to attack even common Mogu. Check out the Zheg page here.

One of the best, honest posts I have read lately is from Gary Taxali over at the drawger blog – he’s ranting about how companies are trying to get over on artists in this down economy, and he’s most definitely not having it. The wave of comments solidify that this guy has definitely touched on a very important topic- classic exploitation of artists. I’ll be watching this guy from now on. Google refusing to pay for Illustration? Incredible. Check out the post <a href="http://drawger.com/taxman/?section=articles&article_id=7693" target-"new" >here.

It is not clear where or whence the Ebu came from, but the tall, lanky entity is known as a grand deity of the forests. It is believed that it is the last of a long gone race of forest ‘caretakers’; one of many species that suffered great losses from the prominence of human magics over the centuries.

After it chooses an area to ‘raise’, the Ebu, with it’s massive, lanky frame, squats down to the surface, while it’s underneath opens to expel a mysterious energy into the ground that plant trees where it sits. The sight has only rarely ever been experienced by man, due to the fragile relationship between humans and the Forests. The contract humans have with the Forests are for safe passage only, so many of it’s secrets and treasures remain hidden as not to be exploited by humans.

Back in 99/01′, I worked for a company called 24/7 Media, an internaet advertising company that was formed from some other companeis and…yadda yadda yadda. They happened to own one of the original online gaming sites, aptly named, Riddler.com. Once endowed with a team of around 30 programmers, after the great bubble burst of 2k that team fell to ONE, a bud of mine name Marc. At one point we were commandeered to redesign the game site. So I ended up re-branding the main character and introduced some sidekicks as well, pushing the tone of the character and site to a darker feel than the lighthearted original. The theme was, “Mad Jester” if I remember correctly. For a two-man team, we did a bang-up job. The site still exists (will it ever truly die??), and if you look closely you will find snippets of my original game icons, like on this page. (Scrambler icon) I’ll add a link of the original design and logo update soon.

Check out his mad-dog sidekick, Oscar De La Kujo here.

Ah, the story behind this piece of art…created several years ago, this art was passed off as a part of my portfolio years ago when I interviewed at Ecko Unlimited here in NYC. What actually happened was, is that apparently my work was ‘jacked’- used without my permission..or so the story goes.

The person I interviewed with was a guy I was already familiar with- a dude named Zak Hoke, if that’s spelled correctly. Apparent, some other dude- named Arther had some info that my work was used. However, the bitch that was Arther- told MY MANGER at the time (during the web fallout i took a job at Macys Herald Square, unngh). I refer to him as such because though he saw me around from time to time , even after he left Ecko for Rocawear, he never told me anything about it so i can try to excise my rights.
