In some far off, fantasy land, there exists a small species of creature simply referred to as “Mogu”. Mogu’s stand about 1.5 feet high, purple-ish, round. They communicate with a complicated set of sounds that is similar to human baby-talk, which is further supported by a slight telepathic link between direct family members. There are playful, harmless creatures.
However, there is a phenomena that occurs at every one in a hundred thousand births- an advanced version of a Mogu is born. These special Mogu are called “Zhegs”. Unlike the regular Mogu, Zhegs average 6 feet tall, and are born with extremely powerful- and dangerous- magical ability. In the history of the Mogu, the Zhegs commonly use their magic to only open dimensional portals; usually in times where Mogu have come under species-threatening attacks. There is no way to tell how a Zheg will react to the world upon their birth, but they are noted as being very hostile.
After generations of Zheg births, humans began to enslave them and use them for warmongering efforts, until the mogu were officially put under the protection of the Grand Palace- a Kingdom which brought order to the chaotic world in which the Mogu live.
An old sorcerer meets his daughter, a battle mage, and head off on a mission to retrieve a holy object from the depths of the Grand Palace. The daughter is surprised that the sorcerer, her father, is accompanied by a Zheg named VOID…
